A group of local democrats gathered for a meet and greet, and ice cream, with another candidate who’s seeking Iowa’s top job.

Former union leader and nurse Cathy Glasson stopped by Sioux City this evening at the home of David and Lorna Halaas.

It was an opportunity for the her to connect with voters and talk about issues like raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, and making sure every Iowan has universal healthcare.

“We’re going out and talking with and listening to regular Iowans that get up and go to work every single day and want to make and improve lives for their families and their kids. That’s why I’m here in Sioux City today to actually get out, listen to workers, listen to families. Really listen to a lot of Iowans who have felt out or ignored over the course of time,” said Glasson.
